Serial X mixing flow-cell (Serial MiX) is a modified version of Serial FloXcell with internal designs suited for efficient mixing of protein crystals (or solutions) with ligands.

Serial MiX is used in serial crystallography, solutional scattering and spectroscopic studies where reaction could be initiated in protein using external chemicals or ligands.

In a Serial MiX device, samples can be delivered to the X-ray transparent capillary using syringe-pump, and mixed within the internal mixer and data from continuously flowing sample are collected from within the capillary.

Serial Mix is compatible with catchers and accessories similar to Serial FloXcell for easy installation and utility in labs and synchrotrons.
